Any decent color printer will work. For best quality use a laser printer. If you do not have a color printer you can transfer your images to a CD or a memory stick and take it to your nearest copy center.   Can I change the color or size of a design? After you download your design and print it - Take it to your chosen tattoo artist. Discuss with him/her what you would like to change. Changing the colors and deleting or adding to certain aspects of the design should never be a problem. Most designs can be made larger or smaller. Some designs may not be able to be smaller due to the construction of the design. Your artist will be able to determine that when he/she sees it. You can always talk to another artist for a second opinion. The range of techniques used for designing tattoos varies from charcoal, watercolour, bitmap and vector oriented graphics programs, etc. Raul Ortiz in particular draws on paper and then treats the designs digitally.   Is it true that you always need a line art stencil?
